Upgrading to G-Sync Monitor with

It's time for me to upgrade my monitor for G-Sync one. But there are few things I need it to have as I have been spoiled.

I'm looking for a monitor That has deep blacks and vibrant colors, much like AMOLED screens, but we don't have any of those yet in a monitor so IPS I guess it is. 144HZ Because 4K<100+ FPS, I'm spoiled as I said. :D Vesa mount (Stand itself to be versatile just in case). FPS counter, No need for annoying programs.

I myself have come down to this one https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q/ Maybe there is something better and so that is why I am asking around.

From what I've heard around the interwebs, the PG279Q is pretty solid. I have its predecessor, the 8Q Swift, and it's a beast of a monitor, so I'd expect adding in better colors would make it even better.

Forget it. The closest you will come is with a VA panel. IPS has more accurate colors but what you are looking for is contrast. Amoled has basically infinite amounts of contrast because when parts are black, they are literally off.

Now for the important question: What is your GPU setup?

I do realize that, but there really isn't anything better out there with the performance to match? If there is, then that is why this topic exists.

Currently running a GTX Titan black. Next year I will be building a new PC, probably in SLI. One of the top tier cards anyway 1080 or Depending on what comes out next year. I am perfectly happy with 1080p at the moment It's, G-sync that I need really. And as I said 4K<100+ FPS. I might not be able to reach high FPS on my titan that easy these days, but once I build my next PC I will effortlessly even at 1440P and that is why I selected that 1440p Monitor to have at least some form of upgrade into it, otherwise it does seem a wee bit pointless to replace a monitor that works, but I don't like with another similar spec wise one. Once I can build a PC that can run 4K at 120 FPS then we will talk. Until then I will stick with my 1080p monitor or 1440p if I get one.

Either the PG279Q or Acer XB271HU would be good. I was debating between them when I made the jump to 1440p144hz.
I have the Acer and love it, overclocked it to 165Hz(from the built in OSD) from day 1 and have no issues.

Hmm, you are planning to buy nvidia GPUs. Vega might be out by then. And DX12 and Vulkan seem to favor AMD....
I would say go for cheap G-sync now if you really REALLY need it and don't lock yourself into the green ecosystem.

Should just go free-sync and save money man

Especially if you aren't actually building a new PC until next year

1440p 144hz IPS free-sync 379 GBP no idea what kind of crazy sale is happening

G-sync same specs except for 165hz which is rather pointless, 667 GBP

It is really hard to say, Every year there is something to stop and think about, but in the end Nvidia comes on top in raw performance. Just because something new comes up, or old...It doesn't mean it will pick up, You still need support.

Currently sitting on Greet team, because they have the solid raw numbers to back them up (And they don't fail to do so every year). Next year I will have a look at what comes out and then have a look price performance if the new cards will be worth it or would it be better to go for the by then cheaper 1080's.

I've got the Acer XB240H 144hz 1080p Gsync monitor. While it looks like you want a 1440p panel, just wanted to say I've been very happy with my Acer. Gsync and 144+hz do not disappoint; I'd forgotten about tearing till I played some Overwatch on my Laptop(Dell with an i5-6300u and Intel 530 graphics) and saw a ton of it. Makes me appreciate not having it on my main rig. I've been contemplating upgrading my 980 to a 1080 just so I can keep more games above 100fps. :-) Probably going to hold out for a 1080ti assuming one is made in the future.
