Upgrading Lenovo K450e Cpu

I recently found a great deal on a Lenovo K450e desktop that I hot-rodded a bit. Now I am wondering if it is possible to switch out the cpu from the i5 4460 to the i7 4790. I will use this pc for rendering files from my 5d Mkiii and for gaming (WoW and other mmos). I have already added a 750w psu that i had laying around and I bought a gtx 770 to throw in that was on sale. Also added more ram for a total of 24gb.

YES swapping CPU it totally possibility. Just make sure if you swap it out you apply new TIM (thermal paste)

You also might want to check on BIOS compatibility.  The i7-4770 might be a better option.

From what I've read the system in question has an option for a 4790 so compatibility shouldn't be a problem

The upgrade was successful, thanks for all the help!

@Dalbry91 could you give me an idea of how this specific upgrade affected your WoW performance? I have the same k450e setup and I’d like to do the same if it is worth it.
