Upgrading is hard

Hey guys happy new year.

So its my birthday in march and ill be 16. I need to upgrade my PC and this is what i have so far.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/TBvgrH .

I also need a case upgrade and my options are:

NZXT P630: https://store.nzxt.com/products/phantom-630-windowed-edition-matte-black-ultra-tower-case

NZXT S810: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-083-NX&adword=google/pla&gclid=Cj0KEQiA_ZOlBRD64c7-gOzvrP0BEiQAAYBnd3qkiKsEWxysC1fhLVkklaPPEMn1Q1Yv5k56DoI0ePAaAino8P8HAQ

Corsair 780T: http://www.onestoppcshop.co.uk/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/376202/?gclid=Cj0KEQiA_ZOlBRD64c7-gOzvrP0BEiQAAYBnd_CsAY6tVJg1hcrnymrs_ntQxzEz2C4EyroXcAxHt-gaApGo8P8HAQ

I would obviously do my research as to where i can buy them cheapest when i choose which one but for now its just a link to the case's.

So here is my question what else should i upgrade. I'm thinking a motherboard upgrade so i can oc my CPU. However i was also thinking keyboard and mouse and maybe even my GPU. Heck if i get enough why not do it all. However i still think that ATM my CPU is fine (FX 6300) and i would rather invest in a mobo that can oc rather than a better CPU.

My full part list is on my bio but here is the basics.

CPU: FX 6300 cooled with a hyper 212 evo

GPU: HD radeon 7770

Ram: (2x4gb) Corsair vengeance

Mobo: Asrock 990FX Extreme 3

HDD: 1TB wd cb

Should i consider RAM? I don't think i need it. Also a monitor or just keep my smart tv?

Also any game recommendations as im not yet a big PC gamer but would like to game more?

Honestly i couldn't say about the budget as i have no clue as my parents are really mischievous when it comes to presents. (XB1 for christmas that i wasnt expecting but wanted and i got ready to spend the money that they said i was having then BOOM xbox)

Thanks for reading this incredibly long post and any advice is appreciated!

Once again happy new year

EDIT: Could anyone enlighten me on the new intel and amd cpu that will be released this year and whether it would be worth the wait to look at them and when they will be released?

first thing *I* would upgrade if you game on your computer is the GPU/PSU/SSD... and you don't need anywhere near 750w... 500 would be more than enough... only reason I have a 750w PSU is it was the same price for a decent 500w one :P

Currently, however, there's several EVGA, Corsair, and XFX models that would be fine and much cheaper... the GPU is a big buy... do you game enough to warrant dropping $200ish on a decent one?

Probably not at the moment and especially this being my last year in secondary school which means exams i probably wont start heavy gaming on the pc

In that case, what about something like this?

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3gWsP6

cases I looked through and thought were good buys:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/nanoxia-case-nxds2b (no window, but it's basically a Define R4 for a decent amount cheaper)

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/phanteks-case-phes614pbk (this is the best buy for the money I saw)

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/fractal-design-case-fdcadefr4blw (same case I have... maybe best case ever?)

but cases are all up to the end user... I like simple, clean design combined with good build quality...

I would upgrade the GPU to start with.

ok thanks for the advice

What gpu would you recommend

don't ask MisteryAngel for case input... she has the gawdyest gawdy case ever created :P

Haha, my Evil red case looks cool doe! ☺

About a gpu i would say something like a Sapphire 290 Tri X, or Sapphire 280X Toxic. For your current CPU.

The 290 will be slightly bottlenecked by your cpu in cpu bound games, but you will see fps improvements anyways.

Next to that, i would not upgrade anything much, but just save some money for a cpu + mobo upgrade later on.

I would definitely get a PSU with a single 12v rail. 4x rail with 20 amps each is a turn off IMO.

Yea i need a new psu i take it xfx corsair or evga are fine?

in my opinnion his current psu will be fine.

i have a 750W dual rail psu, never had any issues with it. I would personaly just upgrade the GPU first. if the psu is causing issues, you can allways replace it. But i dont think it would be nessesary.

I also like Fractal and Seasonic... and pretty much ignore everything else... Enermax makes a good one as well but they're generally high

Ok i wont :P

Really ?

yeah i dont realy see a point to upgrade your 750W psu right away, okay it has 4x20A rails, but that doesnt say a whole lot.

i assume they have designed it so, that the pci-e connectors run from diffrent rails.

It hasnt exactly got the best reviews either and the cable sleeve are really relaxed

xfx is definitely a great choice, as well as Seasonic -- the brand that I love and trust. Steer away from questionable brands and other well known brands that use questionable parts. (like the corsair RM series...)

yea, it's just you have to balance all the rails and it gets harder to diagnose problems when they arise... I mean it's technically fine, but CM uses cheap chinese capacitors, they're pretty terrible, but I've seen worse ticking timebombs... I've always gone with the theory of don't cheap out on your PSU as it's the one component that can fry everything... I agree a GPU upgrade would be big for him... but if he isn't gaming much and just got an Xbone, the SSD is a definite huge upgrade, and if he wants to replace the PSU it's not a terrible idea :P

No its isnt the best psu in the world indeed

Upgrading a psu is definitely not a bad idea i totaly agree with that. But idk if its realy nessesary right away.

Did it cause you any problems yet?
