Upgrading GPU

Okay so I plan on upgrading from my 7950 to a R9 290...any recommendations as to which brand/model I should get?

I was looking at either:

http://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-290-DisplayPort-AXR9-4GBD5-PPDHE/dp/B00I0K670E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409537530&sr=8-1&keywords=powercolor+r9+290

Or:

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Version-PCI-Express-Graphics-11227-00-40G/dp/B00HJOXUKC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1409537585&sr=8-3&keywords=r9+290

Any others I should look at?

Avoid things like PowerColor at all costs....Sapphire is okay for a cheaper brand.

Yeah my 7950 is a Sapphire actually, it's been good for me...I was just exploring other options.

I would get this  .. it is cooler and quieter and you get three games and save $10

SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X 100362VXSR Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support TRI-X OC (UEFI) Video Card

Free Sniper Elite, Thief, Murdered Soul Suspect Games, limited offer

Correction. Sapphire is probably the best for AMD cards.  Power Color also has made some of the best AMD cards as well in the DEVIL series.

+1

The Sapphire Vapor X/Tri-X is the best 290 out there.

I literally ordered this thing last friday, it should be here by the end of the week- I'll let you guys know.

I bought it because honestly, the TRI-X cooler is on of the best performing coolers out there. I did not go with powercolor because I don't have any experience with them where as sapphire i do.

Spphire. Like @gereff said, you dont want to get low brands like powercolor.

get a 770 instead

lower performing ...

Why ? He has no use for cuda , 3D , or gsync.

So buy a much slower card? I think you must have meant a 780 because that is closer in performance to a 290. However the 780 is still slower and more expensive.

I don't know what experiences you've had with PC, but I've been buying from them for a while, and I've been just fine. Heck, for my newest upgrade, I went with Visiontek.
