Upgrading from LG 1080p 144hz Monitor

I have decided to upgrade my LG 24GM77 monitor to a 1440p monitor with G Sync. I am currently looking at the Asus ROG Swift and the Acer Predator line of monitors. I would like to spend less than $1000, preferably less than $800, but want the best gaming experience I can afford.

The IPS models look promising, but the only thing throwing me off is the large number of complaints about backlight bleed on the newer 144hz IPS panels. I am happy with the quality of my LG's 8bit TN panel, so it is not crucial to have IPS. It looks rather nice after calibrating it with my Spyder5Pro (even covering 100% of the sRBG color space).

My current gpu is an EVGA Nvidia Titan X SC with a mild overclock.

I would also be interested in the new Acer Z35, with the exception of the pixel density, which is the second reason after g sync for wanting to upgrade. I really want to use my Titan X to the fullest.

I mostly play MMO's, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, Witcher 3, and soon hope to be playing Mirrors Edge Catalyst.

Just curious what you guys would recommend. The newer Acer XB271HU is at the top of my list, but I am still not sure if they have the QC figured out on this model yet. The Asus PG278Q is a close second.

$550 for a 1440p 144hz IPS free-sync display, going to be the best option even if you can't use the free-sync on it for now

I recently bought the Asus MG279Q, and my friend recently bought the PG278Q you've looked at. Both are fantastic monitors, so I can definitely recommend Asus when it comes to these type of monitors. I haven't had much experience with Acer monitors, the last one I owned was just a basic 1080p panel, but I saw the XF271HU at MicroCenter while waiting on my Asus and it looked pretty good. I'd probably want to see both side by side before making a choice, but I know how nice the ROG is firsthand so the Acer would have to be damn good. I think my friend got his on sale for ~$650 or so.

Thanks for the help, I ordered the PG278Q. Now I can't wait for Monday!

You could have gotten an IPS display for less though, like you paid more for a worse display overall man

also this I guess
