So this may not be the right place to post this but I would figure i would ask a trusted group of people. The Question is, is there a possible way to upgrade the components on a Toshiba Satellite c855d-s5230 laptop. i ask because i am currently building my first desktop and once that is finished i want to upgrade my laptop just because. any help would be much appreciated.
Most Laptops have soldered CPUs and stuff, but ram is the most upgradable
You can add ram, get a ssd, and replace the battery and that is about it.
sometimes you get lucky and get a laptop with mxm interfaces for gpus.
It really depends on the laptop. For example, I have an MSI X460DX which has a removable processor, RAM, hard drive, mPCIE connector, and optical drive. Heck, even the audio, USB, and card reader ports on the right side are simply plugged into a connector on the motherboard.
On the other hand however, I've taken apart a Macbook or two and the only things you'll be changing is the RAM and hard drive.
depends on the manufactuar actually, dell had a lot that we're soldered in but HP/Toshiba/Compaq and other brands usually don't
but for you're laptop the only thing I think you can upgrade would be this and its not much of an upgrade
e1 series is meh-sauce
