I have just completed building my PC by buying an MSI GTX 980 and a 4K TV connected via a displayport and the weirdest thing happens I get a boot screen, but its like it 3D, two screens side by side of the same image and then when windows boots up the screen just goes black. I have plugged in a HDMI in just to get an image and then gone into nvidia setting and the displayport is not detected, Have have tryed using the other display ports on the graphics card, but the same result, I have reinstalled windows and my motherboard and graphics card drivers and its still the same. I don't know what else to do.
Please Help
Here are my PC specs
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z87X-OC Processor - Intel 4770K (Overclocked @4.3) Power supply - Antec High Current Gamer M 750w Memory - G.Skill 16GB (2x8) @2400 MHz SSD - OCZ Vertex 4 128GB Hard Drives - 3x Seagate Barracuda 3 TB Graphics Card - MSI GTX 980 4G OS - Windows 8.1 Display - Panasonic Viera TX-65AX802B
Here is an update I have pluged the displayport into the motherboard instead of the graphics card and used the intel graphics and the display works fine at 1920 x 1080 if I go to 2048 x 2160 its going into 3D mode where are two images side by side like the boot screen with the graphics card, but the graphics card was in 3840 x 2160, if I put the intel graphics resolution into 3840 x 2160 the screen goes black and then reverts back to previous settings. So to me it likes like a problem with the graphics card driver.
If anyone has any ideas I don't know what else to do. Please help
I have google it and it looks like some people are having the same issues, but I thought well maybe hoped that someone might have the answer. I do get a bios screen when booting up, but its like 3D its two images side by side
Here is a picture of the bios as it boots up In the corner you can see the resolution 3840x2160 @ 60hz, but its doubling the image and when its in windows it just goes black
Hi , I had the same problem with mine and found the solution. I googled it and came up with your original post and saw no solution had been posted. The solution is to access the displayport stream settings in the panasonic tv and change the settting from auto to single. Panasonic Viera TX-65AX802B Select display port connection via the AV input selection, so display port signal input is currently on screen Menu>Setup>Display Port Settings>Stream Setting Select Single and OK to save. Worked for me just now, only drawback is it seems to display in 1080 rather than 4K even though my rig and the GTX 980 are capable of it. Might find a fix for the resolution issue but main thing for me is that I have a proper display! Cheers.
