Ok so i'm upgrading my mobo to this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128886 And I was wondering if there was anything that I need to do before switching and uplugging and stuff.
Basicly if you just un-install your drivers according to your current board. And then just shut down the system, switching boards out. Then it should basicly be no problem. You just have to re-install drivers and re-activate windows after the swap. So i could recommend to download the newest drivers for your new upcomming motherboard before your swap boards. It will makes things allot easier for you.
.... and replacing the motherboard / adding Xfire / replacing the PSU ALL before adding a SSD seems like a ridiculous order of priority but I won't judge you :)
Well the main question i have, if this setup is used for gaming, which resolutions does he has in mind to game on, that he´s going to need a dual 390 for it?
I was dropping below 60 on fallout4 with a couple mods with a 780 classified so it's not weird he wants xfire with a 390... it's a 290 rebrand ~equivalent to a 780ti or so
the SLI 780's fixed the hell out of THAT problem... but I was gaming at 1440p...
Yeah i suppose that you might see some reasonable scaling at 1440p in certain gpu heavy games. But yeah the cpu will still be a demending factor in certain games that tax heavy on the cpu. Especialy with AMD drivers having allot more overhead on the cpu, then Nvidia drivers in DX11 titles so on sofort.
Ah yeah sorta kinda thought so. I´m not realy sure if dual 390´s is going to be worth it on a FX. Unless he is planing to go on some high res gaming like 4k. Or what not. Or 1440P wenn playing heavy gpu bounded games.
Appreciate the feedback, I'm gaming at 1080p with an FX 8350, and as far as if I need it for that resolution, I don't care. I wanna destroy all of my current games, also how would i go about uninstalling the mobo drivers? Device manager?
Yeah that should basicly work. But keep in mind that the scaling on 1080p with dual 390´s wont be that great in certain games. Your cpu will be a bottleneck. In my opinnion dual 390´s is not worth it for 1080p.
