Upgrade laptop screen to 1080P?

is it possible to upgrade my laptop screen from 1366x768 to 1920x1080?
on some pages it says my original laptop screen uses a 40pin connector however this is something i-am not an expert in at all…
so if someone could help me?

My laptop is a HP Pavilion DV6-6b50ed

Your best bet is to see if there is another monitor in your model number series that uses a 1920X1080 screen. That would make things much easier.

Start by finding out your exact model number. Then see if you can reference that into a screen that works....

Know what, I honestly went thorough this about a year ago. I Gave up and just sold my old laptop and picked up one with the resolution I wanted for 50 bucks more used. Too many variables to worry about and I didn't want to waste my money on something that may or may not work in the end. I recommend this route. I spent countless hours in forums and searching online only to just say screw it in the end.

yeah...
i bought this laptop as used for 210,- Euro.
oh well i'll just save up

right.. i have 40 pins but no touch screen

If It helps at all I use an HP Elitebook 8540w and that has a 15.6" 1080p screen. You can usually find them for about $200-350 USD on eBay depending on the specs and there are typically quite a few of them listed since they were a popular corporate model. The fact that most of them have Quadros in them is a very nice bonus if you want to game with it.

Not sure about availability in Europe but I would imagine that there must be some floating around.

yeah but i got this laptop for 210 Euro haha,
so....
