if you go to the options app in manjaro there are kernel settings there :P if you aren't dual booting at the moment 4.5 is available and stable. 4.4 is just lts. Whatever says it is installed from before erase it. If the manager can't see you have installed by hand you can install from that.
Go to hardware detection and check your driver settings after reboot!
Thank you for the quick response, the kernel installs fine but if i remove the default kernel using the gui and reboot it says vmlinz kernel 4.1 failed
Sometimes it still says install so hit it again. I've never installed over CLi before so I can't help you there sorry ;-; I should do that some time though.
Honestly since I started using manjaro in Jan its the first time in the 8-9 years of using linux that I have played with kernels. I don't have too many machines I wanna play with on that level lol.
Did you update grub (that said if manjaro uses it?) - grub likely still points to the missing kernel?
