My old Pc from 2010 has a ATI Radeon HD 5670 but it is now dead and the card does not work.
Any suggestion on a suitable upgrade please. Something like around £200 is lower
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card The same one I have in my gaming pc?
What PSU do you have? You may need a new one to power some of the higher end cards.
I know a Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express needs a 8 and 6 pin connector and my psu has that

But does it have enough power (read: wattage and amps) to run the card?
^This.
Plus, do you even need a card that powerful? What are you going to be doing with the system and what are the other specs?

You really do not need a 280X, you would be far better off getting a smaller card and an SSD probably. it would load you applications faster.

Usually I would agree but if he is using Browsers and Word Processing the SSD would boost them a lot and you could probably load WoW on there as well so it loads quick. Lets face it WoW does no require a super GPU, a 280X for WoW is super overkill.
If he suddenly said he wanted to get into gaming large scale, like with the Steam Sales on right now, I would totally back the 280X bandwaggon, but it seems this is not the case.
Open up the computer and check the PSU brand, model, and specs?
Ok I have got the PSU out of the case and it is a Dell 0W299G 875W Power Supply N875EF-00 NPS-875BB
