Upgrade Advice

With the 480 stock issue appearing to be fixed, I've decided I'm ready for an upgrade. Just a small problem. My current mobo is an itx a88x (heatsink hangs over pcie slot) and in order to keep the majority of parts an really just upgrade gaming experience, I'm think just grab a micro/atx board in order to keep things simple. Thoughts guys? Just really wanna be able to use the rx480. I'm aware of any probable bottlenecks and am ok with this. Am currently considering the asus a88x pro board atm. The yellow is a bit out there but it has all the requirements met for me.

Why not just buy a pcie x16 riser cable?

Thought about it but everybody complains about those things breaking/catching fire and the angled ones have their issues too.

EDIT: because I know somebody will ask, what heatsink, noctua u12s. So why not smaller heatsink. I like the quiet and the temps are reasonable

I've never heard of one catching fire - although I would never buy a super cheap and nasty one either. You get what you pay for.

Maybe replace the chipset heatsink.?

you misunderstood that. The CPU heatsink hangs over the slot. Board is itx
