[Update] Bit-Tech AND Hexus. Two Official Skylake-E Reviews

I dont say that.

But since everything is still under NDA, and we dont have any other sources to compair or validate with.
I´d rather wait and see more sources, and then compair the outcomes.
So for me its a little too soon to pull conclusions from it.

Skylake-E - better known as the Ryzen panic platform.

Well pci-e lanes directly from the cpu are of course diffrent,
then the HSio lanes that come from the chipset.
The dmi bus between the cpu and chipset is only 4x pci-e 3.0 if i´m not mistaken.

It seems so. GamerNexus did Q&A video lately. One question about X299 chipset PCIe lanes. The answer mentined 4x lanes being multiplexed into 28.

Hexus just posted their review as well

Soooo

Pretty much the same results/conclusions as Bit-Tech it looks like?

Delightful.

  • As close as makes no difference to Ryzen performance (if you were not watching the numbers you could not tell them apart in use)
  • Needs two more cores just to stay level with Ryzen
  • Pumps out more heat than Ryzen
  • Uses more power than Ryzen

Intel cannot beat Ryzen in any meaningful way.

Yup.

It's fast as hell and OCs well but gets hot, drinks the power and is expensive.

Also they be reporting X299 is having teething issues. Not unexpected though of course. All platforms have problems in the beginning

This is the most ridiculous launch of a CPU lineup in my entire life. WTH is this even. 1000$ for 10 core that has the potential for 5 Ghz OC. But ofc you have to remove the IHS to achive this?!!?!. And the power draw xD we have a new bulldozer on our hands boyz.
I know Threadripper will have a hard ceiling of 4.1Ghz but i rather buy that than to have a power generator and an AC beside my PC.
