I plan on buying the asus am3+ sabortooth 990fx r2 motherboard with a 8350 but i read in the reviews their not compatible until you update bios with a older processor. Is this true? I don't have any other processors. Or can I use the 8350 with it to update my bios? Plz help before I purchase it.
I haven't heard any such thing, and the 990FX chipset natively supports the Bulldozer/Piledriver architecture. BIOS updates shouldn't be necessary in order to use the system, but a BIOS updates is usually a good thing.
I think BIOS updates are only an issue if you're coming from an older Socket AM3 motherboard with an older chipset (ie, 785). The older boards need a BIOS update to support the newer CPUs, however I'd like to think the manufacturers who are still selling those boards under the "AM3+" label have already done that, and that it's really an issue for people coming from an older CPU looking to upgrade using the same motherboard.
if the mainboard is Ref 2.0 or r2.0
then it supports Vishera out of box.

but you need to be sure you buy the sabbertooth R2.0
