Unreasonable frames for higher end pc

Anyone can spot any bottlenecks in my build, This isnt a new pc but as much money as i spent on it i should get more frames than im getting. In arma ii for example in a city i get at max 20fps on med. When zooming in a can at times jump down to >5 fps.

Any help or sugestions would be of much help for any upgrades for its due for a refresh.

Well, your CPU isnt the best of the best, and arma uses a LOT of CPU power, it might be bottlenecking a bit in arma. Arma is just very demanding, for example, i have it set on high with an i5 2500k oc'd to 4,3Ghz and an XFX 6870 and i usually get (depending on the mission) around 20-40 in city's, mostly sitting around the 29 fps.

I was thinking of just a motherboard and CPU refresh. My motherboard does 16x 4x when in crossfire so idk if that could be a reason as well. I think its the FX8350 logan has been talking about and i may do that.

Yeah, i think that might be one of the best options, because the GPU's will last you for a while and arma (hopely) doesnt use more than 4 gigs of ram. Also, that probably isnt the reason, you see, my graphics card handles the game fine on medium to high settings with AA toned down and a few other very demanding things turned off.

Before making the decision on the FX-8350, try finding some benchmarks for arma with other cpu's.

i personaly would also upgrade your RAM to faster stuff. also going to 8gigs wouldnt hurt, the more modern games are using more and more ram nower days, for example farcry 3 like's you to have 6gigs set aside ideally. and what ever a game wants you always need abit more for your OS and background apps on top of that to be sure that everything in the RAM department is running smoothly.
