I'm back again with more "depressive" music! Not really metal, more toward rock. But still a very enjoyed and skilled band: Katatonia! A live performance, but nevertheless a great performance.
I recommend Titanium, it’s pretty strong, could go for iron if you want it cheap.

But then I heard this and the rest was history.

Hmm. They are classified as gothic/doom, but I dont get much of a doom vibe from them at all. In the past "doom" metal was almost always synonymous with "stoner" metal (Stoner/Doom), but this may have changed more recently. I'd go with gothic I guess.

That's considered real "doom" metal. Its modeled after NWOBH (new wave of british heavy metal). Basically all "doom" metal bands trace their lineage back to Sabbath. Original doom metal was characterized by super low frequency drone-type riffs and slower tempo.
