Unlock/ROM S4

I'm getting my S4 unlocked tomorrow and I was wondering, if I was to change the ROM to something else would it affect the network unlock? I want to install the stock UK ROM for the S4 and I think I have a modifed or different ROM at the moment.

Your post is quite confusing, could you clarify these things a bit:

- What do you mean by 'network unlock'?

- What is the UK ROM?

- Why are you getting your S4 unlocked by someone else and not yourself? There are toolkits out there that make it a breeze, and honestly, I trust no one when it comes to rooting my phone. Nobody.

You can also head to XDA-developers and make a post there. They're Android experts and can help you out a lot.

What I mean by network unlock is the  phone will be fully unlocked to use with any carrier, both here in the UK and the rest of the world also I mean the stock S4 ROM for the UK as every country is sightly different such as default language also it's being factory unlocked not by using a different ROM or something.

Oh, you mean unlocked bootloader. Yeah, ok, that makes sense. Your phones won't be rooted when it comes to you, you'll have to do that yourself.

No, it won't affect the unlocked bootloader. Bootloader is sort-of like a BIOS for the phone, completely independent and coded at a hardware level. It can't be modified in any way, so if it's unlocked, it's unlocked.  Custom ROMs usually have root access bundled with them anyway, so you're good to go there as well. If you're looking for a custom ROM, CyanogenMod is a very nice one that is almost 100% stock. You can actually pick up the Google Play Edition ROM too, if you want 100% stock.
