At a site that I manage we have one UniFi Indoor AP handling the Wi-Fi. We have been getting reports from users that they have to manually reconnect to the network and enter credentials every time they return to the site. I can’t find anybody that has had this issue using Google, and I’m stumped. Any ideas?
I'm assuming you have rebooted the unifi ap?
Yes, still waiting on reports from users as to whether or not the issue is resolved. Will keep you posted. Sorry, had a brain fart and didn't even think of that until I had already typed this post.
Is there a UniFi controller (hardware device or software on a server) somewhere on-prem? I've found that these things act funny when there isn't a controller.
We manage all of our Ubiquiti devices with an Amazon Web Server.
Okay. Have you confirmed there is no communication issue between the AWS instance and the AP?
Also, these AP are typically designed to be run in a cluster. Depending on how many people are in the office, you may want to get a second one. I've noticed signficant improvements in connectivity by adding an additional AP in problem areas.
On top of that, I'm assuming you've tried a factory reset and reconfigure, updating firmware to latest and all that jazz.
AWS instances are probably not the best way to handle this, in my opinion, because if AWS has an outage and your instance is affected, you lose wireless at all managed sites. If you can throw a Raspberry Pi or something onsite to act as a controller, you'd be much better off.
