Under $1000 Video Editing Build

Hello all,

I will be needing a video editing computer preferably under 1000 US dollars.  I will be using the latest edition of Sony Vegas pro and my camera is a Canon Rebel t3i (I don't know if that matters or not).  I am open to any suggestions on the computer or programs I should use.  I need a computer that can edit Full HD videos.  For now I will be just shooting short films but do plan on shooting a feature film and would like this build to be able to edit a lot of video.  I don't need any monitors or peripherals.  Just the pc and OS.

This is the build i would go with http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3ogMc

IF you really need the windows, you could go without the SSD but it is up to you.

And since you are using vegas pro, you can use OpenCL on the GPU to boost the rendering even more, that's why i added the R9 270 in there :)

IMO, this would be the best rig for editing at this price :)

i bought this, if you don't oc go for hoocee12 build. but oc will help a lot with rendering etc. i have a hyper 212 evo and it's really good. i can recommend the h87 performance from asrock but it's a bit expensive now. i have one and i'm on 4.7ghz 1.26V so it's not a bad board. the b85 killer will be also good i guess, 6phases instead of 8 but still 4.5ghz is possible, wendell got his 4770k on 4.6ghz on the b85 killer. but sli is't supported. you can't crossfire with the 750ti but still. with the msi g55 you have plenty of pci-e slots to put stuff in if you want. something i wish i had more of. asrock boards are full of shitty pci slots sadly.

don't know if sony vegas supports opencl but it supports cuda. if you need opencl get a 2gb card like a amd 260x, 265 or 270.

It does support openCL, I know because i have vegas pro 12 myself :)

He doesn't need an SSD. He does need an OS though. Minus the SSD, add the windows. :)

Thanks all.

Do you play games and or overclock?

a 1000$ build needs an os. having you programs on a sdd makes everything better.
