Unable to see local wifi networks, only my ethernet connection

I have just built my first rig and installed Windows 10 and all the drivers. I go to connect to my wifi and i get nothing. The troubleshoot says to use an ethernet cord. My mobo is an ASUS A88XM-E FM2+ AMD A88X (Bolton D4) 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD

What kind of wifi card are you using?

oh...i didnt know that was a thing

Yeah your motherboard has no wifi onboard as far as i´m aware of.
Thats why i´m asking.

probably not then

Nope if you need wifi, you could either buy a pci-e x1 wifi card, or a usb wifi adapter.
The only problem with your particular board, is that the pci-e 1x slot is right below the pci-e 16x slot.
Which means that if you use a dedicated GPU, you will most likely not be able to use that slot x1 slot.

If you use an apu on the board without a dedicated graphics card, then you could buy a pcie-e wifi card.

yeah i have an APU without a grafx card

Ah yeah, if you dont plan on buying a dedicated graphics card in the future.
Then you can basicly just go and buy a pci-e wlan card.

ok thanks for the help

Your welcome.
You can also look for an USB wlan adapter of course if you like to.

Another option would be a pci legacy wlan card, since the bottom black slot on your motherboard is legacy pci.
But i´m not sure if you still can find some decent pci wlan cards nowdays.
Because thats allready an old standard.

oh okay. ill look out for it
