Unable to connect trying installing Plex

kpn, a dutch fiber isp.
3 month ago i re-installed plex on the freenas. only problem i cannot access it from outside my network. But that no pronlem

That is pretty shitty. I would complain.

if i do DMZ to the ip of my pfsense, on my ISP’s router, all traffic should be forwarded to the pfsense router. Richt?

Possibly unless they have a hidden blacklist which you might get around by using a different DNS than your ISP depending on how they blocked it.

last resort i’ll factory reset the isp router

well factory reset also no luck. Will have to call the isp to check what’s going on.

Chances are if your ISP is blocking plex they are doing it with dns. Are you using your ISP’s dns server or a third party? Try using a different dns server or set up pfsense to use encrypted dns (Google it for instructions)

Either way it sounds like a DNS issue if you can’t ping certain domains.

i’m using 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 on the pfsense
and in the ips router it’s not possible to edit the dns

I hardcode the google dns and still a no go

Use emby.

IMO
emby > plex

i prefer plex, because my tv has the plex app nativly. Emby i will have to install a little pc to use emby

solved!
I had to does this

ssh [email protected] -L 8888:localhost:32400

and then connect using the browser to

http://localhost:8888/web

And then it all worked like it should

Thanks for all the support, love the Level1 community
