Ultimate $1500 laptop?

I have a budget of $1500 and I was wondering if you guys could suggest the best laptop I could buy ready (or customise) for that price. I will need the laptop for running the Adobe suite - mostly photo editing.

Thanks in advance guys.

Either one of these:

The Asus is basically the Cyberpower without the ssd. Both have 970m's, I7's and 16gb's of ram. The I7 and 16gb of ram are basically the baseline I'd recommend for an adobe photoshop machine with this budget.

Thanks for the response! Hmmm, the CyberpowerPC has twice the video memory. Surely that sets it far beyond the Asus?

Not necessarily. The 970m isn't going to be strong enough to fully populate 6gb's but in rendering conditions, video rendering, it might be slightly faster.

You don't need an i7 and 16GBs of RAM to do photoshop work.

But it does help to have all the threads, and he has the budget so there is no reason to have less since it will help.

I'd also prefer to get something future-proof (as future-proof as you can get with technology anyway). What if I replaced the video card with something which could utilise all 6 GB? How much would I need to spend and which card would do it?

Dell XPS 13 is a brilliant machine from what I've heard and the limited time I've spent with it (I'm too poor to own one). Worth a look

He may not Need hyperthreading, but in the mobile field there aren't any other quad-core Intel processors.

That's a fair point, but, does he need to go Intel?

for adobe and mobile ohhh yeah

Thanks for the responses and suggestions guys!
