Udev, and timeout

Is there some way i can add a timeout to a udev rule?
i need to check a bunch of hidraw files with a small program i made myself, and when i hit my target file i does exactly what it needs to, and creates the symlink, but for some reason it hangs for a “while”, proberly like 30 secs + pr. hidraw file, when i hit one of the other files.
so i figured if i could either directly timeout in udev, or use a timeout shell command to make the command== xyz %b, argument in udev, maybe something like command==timeout & xyz %b.
