Ubuntu youtube problem

Hey guys,

I just bought my new computer and installed unbuntu on it. I've never used linux before and i'm using it for now until i can afford windows. My problem is that most of the time (but not always) when i'm watching a video on youtube a few minutes in the video loses sound and shortly after that it stops playing. If i refresh the browser the video will play again. I don't seem to have this problem on other websites just youtube. I've tried firefox and chrome but they both have the same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it?

Hopefully i'm not being a huge noob. :)

Flash on linux is a mess (mine crashes if I watch youtube in 720p after a while, but not on 480 and 1080). You can always try html5 youtube. Good luck ;)

try using a firefox addon called flash aid it does a pretty good job

Thanks guys! I tried html5 youtube but i still had the same problem, but thanks for the suggestion. However the flash aid seems to have fixed it! Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks again for the help!
