[Ubuntu]Which mouse you guys using? Mine sucks!

Greetings!

I am looking to purchase a new mouse because mine is giving me a ton of grief and I don't want to try fiddling with more settings (other than the obvious ones) trying to fix it. I am using Ubuntu 15.10 and would just like to buy one I know is compatible. I don't game or anything so nothing special here. Just reliable, maybe wireless.

Which ones are you guys using? Why did you choose it?

Thanks

Well hold on.

How is your mouse giving you trouble?

If it is broken or something, then just get a logitech wireless mouse that you think would fit your hand. They work pretty darn well, and are fairly durable.

But if your mouse is not working cause of ubuntu or something, maybe we can help.

Because I have one from over 4 years ago, and still works with the same batteries in it.

I have a Logitech G600 and I am getting spontaneous double clicks and inconsistent mouse speed. I have messed with all the mouse settings in Ubuntu and cannot get it right. I am to the point where I just think it is the mouse. My other mouse doesn't have these problems, although it is on a different desktop.

Just need something reliable that can handle many hours of coding. :)

I use a Logitech G700s on multiple debian based systems including Ubuntu. My advice is to set the mouse up on a Windows machine with the Logitech software. Makes it a lot easier. You can do it this way because the mouse stores all its settings on the mouse itself. So no need to fiddle with any settings in Ubuntu or any machine you use it on. Does not need the software after the initial set up and if you like the stock settings it needs no set up at all.

Aloo it is rechargeable and has a dongle. You can have the charging cable where ever you like and leave the dongle in the pc. It can work wired with the charging cable if you like too.

You can find it on the web for around $50

I can only second @eastexas . I set my G700s up under Windows and stored the profile on the mouse itself.
Works perfectly fine on Mint, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work in Ubuntu.

I have a zowie fk1, I got it because it's a driver-less mouse

I'm using the Logitech Mx 518 and the G 500 both good and reliable.

Works with pretty good with Mint.

Zowie ZA11 cos I have large hands. The only thing I have still to sort out is the extra buttons. More to do with being lazy than anything else...

i'm sure you just want to buy a new one, but for the sake of trouble shooting why not try the working mouse on the computer your having trouble with, just to zero out the possibility of it being a software issue?
