I know some of you have probably already read this, but I thought it would be interesting to discuss here.
I personally saw this coming a long time ago. Now that gnome has become more and more stable and easier to work with, I think a lot of the DEs that focused on reinventing the wheel will close their doors and contribute to upstream projects.
