I run duel monitors. Primary in landscape and Secondary in portrait. Now the BIOS info and Linux text output while booting is all on the primary display. When the Ubuntu Gnome screen starts and the login prompt appears. Its on the secondary display sideways.
After I log in it works as expected and the screen saver lock screen is correctly on the primary display.
How to I edit the login screen to be on the primary display ?
i think you can change it in the settings somewhere for the monitors where you are able to set the primary monitor
My primary monitor is set and works for everything except the login screen which always goes to the secondary monitor for some reason. If the secondary monitor was not in portrait it would not bother me much.
I managed to fix it with some googling.
I had to copy the file ~/.config/monitors.xml to /var/lib/gdm/.config/
