Hello everyone,
Im currently using Win 7 and have used ElementaryOS in the past. I tought I'd give Ubuntu Gnome a try and wanted to install it.
But whenever the login screen starts, the PC says Mode Not Supported. (I've tried it on multiple monitors. Some give this message, others wouldnt do anything) But whenever I press F1 or other F keys. I get the Console. Whenever I press F6 or F7 again, the mode is not supported.
In the Console, I have to log in, but I dont have any login details yet.
What is the best thing to do for me?

I have a custom build PC with an i5 4460, ASRock B85 Killer mobo, GTX 970 and 250GB SSD. Ive tried it on two 19 inch 720p monitors and a 1080p 21 inch monitor.
Thanks

Prolly nvidia messing things up again, it's worth checking if booting with the 'nomodeset' parameter resolves the issue, it's not as complicated as it might seem.

Just press 'e' when you hit grub, then add 'nomodeset' after 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX='
Give it a try
So I tried this and it worked!
After the installation I had to reboot and Windows 7 showed up. No dualboot screen or whatsoever. Windows 7 and Ubuntu Gnome are manually installed on different partitions, because the automated one didnt work that well.
How can I boot in Ubuntu Gnome now?
You just need to configure the bootloader and grub correctly. Win bootloaders tend to be a bit hardasses.
Boot again from the live usb of ubuntu and install and run boot-repair (option 2):

Let it do its recommended repair. If it asks you to run stuff in the terminal do it blindly it knows what it is doing. Next time you should have grub appear no problem. If windows are not appearing on grub after this just login on Ubuntu do a ¨update-grub¨ on the terminal and it will appear and you will be set.
