Since a couple days ago my laptop running 15.04 gnome wont connect to my home wireless network. Password is right.
It just keeps prompting me for the password.
I updated but nothing changed
How long was it working for before this problem started?
Also try refreshing your DHCP and ARP tables on your AP/Router.
The first thing that comes to mind is that this is a laptop running Linux which seems to be a common issue when it comes to drivers (hense my first question). It might be worth pointing your google searches in that direction
Does your laptop have any other Operating Systems installed?
I'd say 1 or 2 weeks ago it was working. only linux
Install any updates before it stopped working?
Anything else on your network having this problem?
If you have a smartphone that can do it, set up a personal hotspot and try and connect your laptop to that (via wifi obv) and see if the problem follows your laptop or your home AP.
Edit; or if you have access to another wifi network just try that (don't know why I didn't suggest that first)
I've had a similar problem in the past. Just try to remove the network in the network settings and create a new network connection for it. Then you should be able to log in again.
Did you happen to update the kernel?
Uh, found out something interesting.
The tech that came to my house to "fix" the internet (it was a packet loss problem isp side) somehow had the bright idea to reset the router, name AND password.
So, the thing I discovered is that my Nexus 5 kept connecting automatically to my wifi even though the password had changed.
That might be something for the Android devs to look into
