I just setup my ubuntu dual boot with windows 10 and I install gnome 3 and when I log out of ubuntu and try to change to gnome 3 the desktop environment list is blank.
Allready restarted your system, and installed available updates for the system?
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Basically the equivalent to "have you tried turning it off and on again?". :P

Idk nothing was working so I just swapped it out with 14.04 :P

I raider force myself to use 16.04 lts because of the intervals I reinstall my machines. Windows allways ecery year (because deployment server makes it so easy) and Linux machines once a 2-4 years.
