Ubisoft adding preorder microtransactions to the Assassin's Creed movie

$15 gets you the movie and a digital copy of the script, $25 gets the aforementioned gift plus a T-shirt, the $40 tier adds a cheap watch, $120 and you get a hoodie (but no T-shirt or watch), $600 and you get a premium scaled statue of the Assassin (no word on statue size), and for a gobsmacking $1,200 you get a 15th century crossbow replica that probably can’t actually fire crossbow bolts.

So 15$ for E-mail with the story of any AC game, it's all the same anyway. 40$ for cheap plastic watch? Cool...

And yet people will still buy that crap

I thought this was going to be a joke.

But I guess it kind of is anyway.

Every big movie has merch in the shops at the time of release, if this stuff is really good and worth having, bundling it in as an exclusive with a movie ticket at a marked up price is a dickhole move by them....

But if they release the stuff in stores are movie release time (which would make sense if they want to make money from it) and it's good merch, not so bad.

$1,200 gets you a non functional crossbow when you can buy a functional replica for $160. Anyone that buys that deserves to be hoodwinked.
