Tyan Genoa 64 core combo Legit?

So I was dream building on Newegg the other day and came across this:

Tyan Combo deal, Tyan S8050GM2NE Server Motherboard installed AMD Epyc 9534, 64-Core/128-Threads, TDP 280W, Base Clock 2.45GHz.

for ~$3400.

The biggest flag for me was the thumbnail says 64 cores 192 threads. Now this could just be an oversight but that seems odd. Also it being sold and shipped from Newegg with a no return or refund policy is dicey. This seems a little too good to be true IMO. What are your thoughts?

I was looking to build a 64 core ( maybe even a dual 64 ) with the ASrock board, but figured if this thing is legit might as well build a 64 Genoa with ddr5. I know this board only has 8 channels vs the 12 Genoa can handle, but that’s not really an issue for me. Also this board could technically drop in a 128 core Bergamo down the line ( many years from now when I can afford one). Thanks for any input.

I mean, it’s sold and shipped by Newegg, so I’d think you’re pretty safe. I got a decent deal on a Tyan S8030 mobo from Newegg last month, so maybe Newegg is getting good pricing from Tyan? Or Tyan stuff just isn’t selling and they want to get rid of it? Either way, that is a pretty killer deal for 128 threads of current-gen EPYC.

Thanks for your input. I agree, its a killer deal and I am probably going to pull the trigger and build it…

just check there is a factory RMA if newegg are excluding an rma/refund due to not having any more stock.

the down side being that there will be no refund just replacement if something breaks within the factory warranty period…
also factory returns are rarely free.

Good point. Per the listing it’s non-returnable and non-replaceable, so your warranty service would be through Tyan only. Of course if you did not receive what they purported to sell you, I’d immediately file a chargeback with my credit card company in the event that Newegg refused to accept a return.
