Hello all, I noticed yesterday that two of my 3.0 ports where not working. They give power but they do not read any device I plug into them. I am not sure what to do about them. my other 3.0 ports work and they are all on the back. The mother board is a asrock exteme 4 7zz lga1155
Might have a defect in the motherboard. Hardware related from my pov
Front usb ports? checked the cables etc?
Is it possible to solder a motherboard in an oven? ;o
If you are runnign Windows go to the control panel, then hardware and sound, and finally device manager. Make sure that you have the proper drivers installed for the USB ports under Human Interface Devices. Hope this helps because I had a similiar problem.
Also check bios if they are enabled.
Never reflow solder your motherboard or any other electronics in an oven you actually bake food in. All electronics have carcinogenic chemicals that will outgas and stick to your oven and heating elements which will outgas to your food in future uses. Not sure if you were serious or not but still just a caution from an electrical engineer that knows about this stuff.
