Two 780ti's or 1 gtx 980ti/Fury X

So it seems like the 780ti is basically the same preformance as a 980. so i was wondering would it be best to get another 780ti. or a fury x or 908ti? at 1080p and planing to upgrade to 1440p

The 780 Ti is actually around the same performance of a 970.

If you aren't running Linux and refuse to wait for drivers then it really hurts to say this, but get a 980 Ti

well mine is stock oced so when i did a benchmark it sat really close to a 980. and yeah i just want head room. most people here would say "That 780ti is good enough for most game" well what if i want head room for the future? as games become more graphically intensive.

though my 780ti can max out GTA V at 1080p including distance scalling. lol

For 1080p all of those option are super over kill. Maybe if you were running triple screens or 2160p then yes the 980ti or Fury X would be a good idea but not at 1080p.

I know on eBay they sell for close to 970 prices so by selling it you are practically making the money to buy a second one in which case that's roughly what it'd cost to get a 980 Ti.

What you have is overkill for 1080p already so I'd make the move to the 980 Ti after you get a monitor upgrade. Maybe get an A399U monitor that the Tek reviewed recently.

but what is i want to see my fps go to like infinity lol

Sell the 780 Ti and get a 980 Ti in that case :). One card is better than two due to SLI scaling.

lol okay

"780ti is good enough for most game" good enough ?
Dude my 750 Ti can run pretty much all games on max with filters off....around 60 fps

Some of us want all filters and 144 fps. I play at 1080p and run xfire 290x's but at some point will make the jump to 4k

How about the Fury X?

Sheesh, you go through graphics cards like socks.

I you think he goes through graphics cards like socks, you should been there when I went through 6x MSI 660TI's (they kept breaking, got some doa through rma as well).

you will only get worse performance over time with NV; + with SLi/CF you'll get less performance than from a single massive chip.

with today games your 780ti will be comparable with AMD7970's (half as strong gpu die);
so again better go with new gpu at this point - since NV is nerfing performance of their older cards in order to sell more 900 series cards.
