Well, if you ever find yourself in the Pacific NW, check out Deschutes Brewery, Terminal Gravity, and Ninkasi. Don't really know much about the craft beer scene over on your side of the states.

I like stuff from terrapin brewing

Delicious. Plus it's 10.5% abv ;)

Lagunitas Imperial Stout is my favorite stout atm. 9.9% so no slouch there either (but at $5 a 22 oz bottle it better be good right? lol).

Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald was great the first few times i had it (it was in the top 200 beers on beer advocate last time i saw) unfortunately it wasn't as great the last couple of times i had it.

What style do you prefer or have you not had enough experience yet to make a decision?

Congratulations......best suggestion I've got for you is to pace yourself. Happy Birthday!

Nice to feel the freedom. If you happen to wake up naked and have no memory, well then I suppose you are initiated. Happy 21st!!! :)

I really like amber ales and whiskey and bourbon. I've had the opportunity to drink a lot since a was 15 but being able to buy exactly what i want when i want is a different story. Thanks for all the Happy Birthday wishes guys.

Get a taste for single malt. Save yourself 10 years of ignorance by just drinking it now. Your friends will worship you as a god. Start with something like this!

Founders Scotch Bastard and a Guiness. Maybe a blue moon. Also some of the local ciders are pretty great.

if you can find it gulden draak http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/48/155/

This is the best advice so far.

For regular beer I like stella or a corona with lime. I don't mind IPA's and sometimes I actually want a stronger beer, but I'm not into strong tastes very much, even with food.

Lately I've been drinking strongbow hard cider. It's like champagne mixed with apple cider.

Also I really like the new henry's hard soda, orange and gingerale are awesome.

Ooo new glarus is amazing... but it's hard to get. The only place that sells it is around wisconsin, spotted cow is A+

I'm not too snoody when it comes to beer, but I won't drink miller light or coors, or any of that piss in a can. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/590/1963/

Idk about the commentary but that is a quality bottle right there. I don't like whisky, but I'll drink that stuff without an argument. Maker's is growing on me.

50/50 that shit, shake and strain. Stoli doesn't taste good but my hangovers last about eight minutes.

A few of my favs:

Founders makes some really good beer.
Clown Shoes Beer is good also.

What I would suggest is drink locally brewed beers.
Some really good hand crafted beers.
They do it for the quality not the quantity.

No Bud Light or Coors.
