have a lone freenas pool, trying to recover it as the freenas server cooked pretty good. i was able to install xubuntu 20.04 lts on my work station and install zfsutils but, while i can see the data in command prompt i can not seem to get/copy the data, there are lots of errors.
Please post the output
When you say lone pool, do you mean a pool made up of a single provider (a single drive) and did it start as a lone drive, or is it the only one left from a mirror or whatever?
does zpool status
give any info?
How about importing the pool with zpool import -N stuffnthings
for readonly, so as not to make anythign worse?
And zfs mount
to see what is mounted where?
yes it’s single drive pool as far as i know, it does show up in zpool status and it did import, as you can see above i tried to run a copy command to copy it’s files over to an ntfs drive
oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh zfs MOUNT!!! the drive is def not mounted! maybe that’s the key i needed, think i’ll give that a try
EDIT: well then… i ran the command that gave errors last time and it gave me the SAME errors this time i but, i left for hours and now i have a bunch other files off the pool, seems it worked at least to some degree. maybe some stuff doesn’t go over to ntfs very well?
