I have a very Vanilla setup on Truenas Scale. Deploying the built in Plex app for a local server and connecting to the underlying folders via SMB share configured in Truenas.
My setup cannot survive a reboot. Plex gets stuck on deploying and cannot progress so long as the SMB service is on. Simply turning SMB off, waiting a few seconds for plex to deploy, and reactivating SMB gets me back up and running, but this is a pain. Any ideas?
Issue has to do with Kubernetes path validation safety check that was implemented by iXSystems in TrueNAS Scale Bluefin 22.12. Go to Apps->Settings(Kubernetes Settings) and uncheck “Enable Host Path Safety Checks.”
Note: this is not recommended for high criticality or production systems.
