I saw gigabusterEXE's post on the amazing SNES PC and that motivated me to dig for the old TRS-80. So now that I've retrieved it from my piles of massive 10MB hard drives and Windows 3.1 Dedicated Sound Cards, I'm thinking I would like to do a TRS-80 revival build. But what I'm really wondering is what you guys would do if you found a TRS-80 or similar computer. Shoot some ideas. What hardware would you use? What software? What would you use it for? If you've got any suggestions then please tell. Anyways... How many of you have used old relics such as the TRS-80 Coco2?
I would honestly, turn it into a mobile gaming rig. Find a good ITX board, with a decent onboard audio and video output. And maybe crossfire it with a lowprofile version of whatever crossfire \ sli it with a compatible card.
Give it a decent amount of ram, and HDD space, and try to keep it as cool yet silent as possible.
Would be a great sleeper LAN rig lol.
What Smerrills said,I would say stick to a SDD and one of this 2.5" WDD 1 or 2 TB drives. Maybe AMD fusion based ITX board?
I would get it up and running and donate it to a museum, or replace the internals with high power lappy parts but I don't think it would actually do anything for me.......
