Troubleshooting windows/ssd [Please Help NOT BSOD]

So I have 4 120gb SSD's in my PC, today the third most full one seems to have encountered a 'device i/o' error, I ran CHKDSK on all my drives with the /X ending for the particular one in question as it isn't my boot drive. chkdsk just died after it found all the errors, without trying to repair. the /x left the drive unmounted from my pc, it stopped being visible in device manager and storage manager, however the sata port still recognized it as 'patriot blazer xyz' in my uefi. Last night the PC wouldn't get past starting windows for about 30-45 min so i gave up and went to bed. Today it booted in like 10 min rather than the usual 10seconds, the drive is mounted again but still corrupt in some way, I'm running a full (not quick) format on it as we speak however the issues Ive been having would lead me to believe there is something wrong with my windows potentially. How else can i troubleshoot this and how can i find the actual problem, because it doesn't seem logical for a non boot drive with only steam games to be stopping and slowing down my boot so much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if this is in the wrong sub board please point me in the right direction as this seemed the best place.

cheers,

EDIT: my windows event log throughout only showed an NTFS error in the drive the first time i tried to access it and realized something was wrong, no errors after that.

Have you tried to switch the SATA port it is plugged into?
