Trouble overclocking on the EVGA x79 FTW

I used to be able to overclock really well on the board, and I took the OCs off for a while, and now whenever I put even the slightest OC on the CPU and/or RAM everything becomes unstable. I can boot into Windows, and I get no BSODs, but my some of my drivers quit working. My mouse, LAN and WAN, speakers, etc, won't even register on the computer. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks in advance, sorry if I didn't give enough information.

Whats stability like at default settings in the bios?

Do a memory test, .memtest86 is the go - you may have a stick of ram that is flaky. Even try the opposite ram slots in case one of them is toast.

My money is on the motherboard slowly dying - fingers crossed its still under warranty if it is. There is also a remote chance that its the cpu. Rare unless you have flogged it hard in the past.
