I recently changed my OS from win7 to Debian, and am having some trouble loading twitch streams using iceweasel.
I can access twitch perfectly fine and browsing on the site is at normal speed but when I try to load a stream it stays indefinetly loading (saying loading video...) and the video never starts however I can both connect to the chat and load ads perfectly.
I have contacted twitch support and their answer was to try to watch it under incognito mode, which had the same result.
The troubleling thing is that sometimes very rarely the stream does load, but I can not associate it with anything in particular, any ideias on what is going on?
I am not sure if IceWeasel has flash in it or not. I don't use IceWeasel but I have tho, so if iceweasel is the way it was when I used it, I am pretty sure you have to install a flash plug in for it to work. sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree should do the trick I think.
Twitch is being a bit slow (or behind to put it nicely) :P are sticking with flash, but I view twitch through livestreamer and VLC so if you are interested it is : sudo apt-get install livestreamer and you open it through console
no problem the instructions are on git but if they are vague I can type em out in here. you install it then open up a terminal window unless you have a drop down terminal either or. then just type: livestreamer twitch.tv/[the channel] [transcoding option] --player vlc
they are working on it, but most larger sites it should work. I should try it for something else then twitch and hitbox .. I have used it from ustream twice :P
iceweasel is usealy a very old vershon of fire fox (it was the last time i used it) have you tryed chromium its useualy much more uptodate and supported better than iceweasel (just so you dont get any more problems down the line)
