After LTT’s recent video talking about switching to AMD GPUs, I had a really big hint about my problems from one of my older posts. As Linus also experienced the exact same peripheral freeze issue mentioned in
Linus fixed his problems by trying to update chipset drivers and this has prompted me to try and install chipset drivers again. However I keep on running into the same problems with installing chipset drivers as before, but this time I have a log to share.
Preliminary information
CPU: R5 5600G
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro V2/V1
GPU: XFX 7900XTX Merc 310 Black
OS: Windows 10 Ameliorated ver. 20H2 (i.e. no Windows store and no spyware ver.)
Chipset Driver ver. being installed: 5.02.19.2221
Edit 1: I think I forgot to mention, but I have never installed chipset drivers simply because this problem has never come up before.
Edit 2: Someone on the PCMR forums suggested that I attempt to decompress the AMD chipset install file and use the installer within. This seemed to have some effect (An AMD chipset line was present on windows program uninstall tool for example) but the root issue of peripheral freezing has not been resolved.

My guess is Microsoft has access to a newer driver that’s unreleased yet, or is in error that it thinks it’s newer, uni atall the chipset drivers and install new one, if this is a fresh install, wipe and reinstall windows and don’t let it touch the internet until after you install the drivers
AMD makes wonderful hardware but their driver team smokes crack every so often
