I want to build a $850 travel gaming pc. I want it to be AMD, overclockable, liquid cooling and in a Bitfenix Prodigy Case. Any help would be appreciated! When I say the budget is $850, that is including monitor.
Can't be done.
Actual water cooling, Or like Closed loop h100?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/S81u
There is no am3+ mini itx boards that i know of so if you still want amd then just go for this case of another micro atx case if you want
The h100i in that build is pointless, you can't OC with any microatx mobo that I know of.
I would go for TheCrazyBeast67 build if you really want the Corsair H100 ( which i wouldn't add on a budget build)
it would be something like this if you want the prodigy so bad, but we must drop the H100... http://pcpartpicker.com/p/S8kU
The asus mini itx deluxe mobo Logan uses on his Honey Badger has lots of overclocking features thanks to the daughter-board
Micro ATX, not mini ITX. There are no AM3+ mini itx boards, or OC capable micro ATX boards, so the setup joe wants is impossible
Well with your requirements, this is the best that I could do:

* CPU is unlocked and OC'able, but isn't going to be a lot. I see some OC's up to about 4.5 gHz, but most are around the 4.1-4.3 range.
* Mobo there isn't too many options in this size (mini ITX), so you won't have too many options.
* RAM has LOW PROFILE heat spreaders, so you can install just about any CPU HSF out on the market. It also is a bit faster set, since the iGPU will need faster RAM to peform better.
* Added a CPU HSF so you can run a bit cooler or possibly have a better OC. The water cooling in this budget range doesn't make much sense (most water cooling is >$100).
* GPU is the best that you can get to stay within budget.
* Case is the one that you requested. It's a good one, but for an AMD build it limits your options.
* PSU the best that you can get in this price range.
* Monitor I picked an affordable 1080p resolution set.
Now if you have some flexibility on the case, here is a better option, IMHO:

* CPU is a better option than the 1st build.
* Mobo has more options for upgrades and aslo supports front USB 3.0 ports for any case that supports this (which the case I have listed does).
* Upgraded the GPU to 7870
* Upgraded PSU to give you more upgrade paths
what the hell are you guys talking about, all amd board have multiplier and voltage controll, sure you might not hit over 5Ghz because of the VRMs but you'll be able to hit 4.5Ghz
and no am3+ mini itx and bit finix his fucking huge, better matx cases out there that actually take up the same amount or less space and are just as good if not better
Giga,
I did mention that he should be able to get between 4.1-4.3 normally and 4.5 gHz seems to be reachable. It's not the best option with that case, but can be done. And yes, the BitFenix is a pretty big case. I think I'd rather take some smaller cases over it, but the smaller cases tend to have some limitations. The only limitation on the BitFenix case is the mini-ITX mobo. If the case took micro-ATX than there would be a lot more options, but the case would be even wider if they kept the same layout.
well I'll make my own travel build but one with black jack; and hookers, you know what screw the build
Here is another option, if your not totally stuck on the BitFenix case:

Just add a LAN Party Case Bag like below, if you want some portability:
just get a 3570k an itx board and a 7870
Raging,
And fit that within the $850 budget w/a Monitor? Not going to happen on that budget and still be able to OC the i5 3570k.
Here is close to the lower end of that kind of build (~$970):

here's my AMD build in order to make a decent intel one, it needs to be ATX which would not be around the same space as a bitfinix prodigy
Am I the only one that doesn't use PC part picker? I just don't reling on a program to tell me what to put in a computer makes me feel like I'll get rusty, also my personal choices seem to be better than what they give you.
Giga,
Your build isn't too far off from my AMD build. A few notes:
* Your mobo doesn't support front USB 3.0 port (for the case, assuming it supports it). Not a deal breaker, but it is something that I strive for if at all possible.
* PSU is Rosewill and I'll only buy a Rosewill Hive model. Their other PSU's have been a bit iffy at best. I'm not sure about your suggestion, just thought I'd throw that out there for consideration.
What is your total build price?
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/GhostMistSniper/saved/1v3T
There you go.
Might I recommend a intel build. Like this
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/GhostMistSniper/saved/1v43
You spend $50 more and get a much faster PC.
I've personally used over 60 rosewill Green series PSUs all 430w, 530w, and 630w versions, cool, sileint and they do their job, they've also won awards from many reviewer sites such as jonnyguru, anandtech, and various others
Rosewills Tachyon, capstone and Fortress are also great lines, their stallion line and no name PSU lines however leave something to be desired, I've not looked into their hive series yet
as far as USB 3 none of the 3 Asus boards that were am3+ and micro atx had them, Asus which is known for their overclockability, highstandards even on lower end boards and qaulity, is one of the only brands I trust to recommend to people, I do look at other brands but only after throurough research on each particular model and after it passes my own standards of qaulity
it would also suck if they had to miss out on a awesome 12 hour lan party if their mobo stopped working
I'm over cautious and REALLY don't like recommending stuff that even has a slight chance of frying on the person
I'd rather them be stuck on 2.0 front panel than deal with RMA
also the amount of devices that actually use 3.0 is still quite low, external HDDS and thats about it, still nice to have though
