TR 2990wx with asus Zenith Extreme and Corsair Memory

i have a new TR build (my first TR build) using a TR 2990wx with a Asus Zenith Extreme and Corsair PRO RGB 128GB 3200ghz RAM

if i enable DOCP the system goes to hell i can barely boot, i constantly get errors on boot. i could not even install PopOS because of a kernel panic.

should i just attempt to overclock the ram by my own?

this is like my First AMD system in years. i never had this kind of issues with XMP before. i assume here im just doing something wrong.

Did you update the bios already?

Also since you populate all 8 slots of memory,
You will likely not be able to reach 3200mhz on that kit.
So yeah you basically should tweak your memory settings manually.
In most cases with a decent memory kit you should be able to get 2933mhz with 8 sticks,
on a good day.

So yeah my advice is to try them at 2933mhz.
If that doesn’t work either, then you will likely have to start from the bottom 2133mhz,
and upping and tweaking it untill you run into stability issues.
My guess in a worst case scenario you might top out at 2666mhz on 8 dimms.

The more slots you populate, the more stress it will cause on the imc.
Thats why you will likely not be able to get them to run at their advertised 3200mhz.

awesome, thank you very much for that, will try out, and yes first thing i did was to update bios to latest.

Good luck, it will take some time and fiddling.
2933mhz would be great, but 2666mhz would also be decent already.
And will barely be a noticeable difference with nice tight timings.

i got to 2866 and it looks stable so far, i will be running some more test long term to see is anything comes up.

but definitely a lot better than just DOCP thank you very much @MisteryAngel

Sounds good to me already.
