Toshiba P300 intermittently working

I’ve not seen a failure mode like this before, my Toshiba P300 3TB sometimes clicks, it’s not the traditional clicking, it’s a lot faster. If it happens while copying, the file transfer will slow down, but it will more likely than not stop clicking and continue copying at normal speed. However sometimes it will get stuck clicking for hours, before getting unstuck and working again. Crystal Disk Info shows this being the Seek Error Rate, the drive goes from bad back to good. If there’s something wrong and it can’t seek sometimes, why are there no read errors, or at least why is Read Error Rate 0? Why does it keep dying and coming back?
