Screw it. I just bought a HD 7970, now I want to send it back.

Lol, was gonna make an identical thread. But yea, I'm not very hardware upated recently, and I found out just now that it's out! Waiting for next paycheck! :D

NO!

I HATE YOU!

Don't buy the GTX 680. It's Nvidia's GK104 gpu. This is their mid-range card. The only reason they're pricing it the way they are is to stick it to AMD who came out with shitty cards. The GTX 685 should be the card to go for when it comes out, since it should have the GK110 core.

That's all speculation and rumours. A higher end card hasn't been confirmed.

There's also rumours that AMD are going to bring out a higher end card in the HD 7000 series, or even the HD 8000 series.

get my tax return soon ooww shit need to upgrade from my gtx 465. is there a 660 ti or is it just the 680 only comming out today? been out of the loop for a while thanks.

hasn't the 80/800 always been the highest in the nvidia naming scheme, 8800, 9800, 280, 480, 580? with a few exceptions of like the 590

and how much more than 1500 CUDA cores can they get, that's not an amd card there, thats a lot of cuda cores

I don't really care what core it runs on, the numbers it's showing in reviews are awesome.

They're alright, but I wouldn't call them ground breaking. It doesn't really live up to the hype, imo.

No matter what, I will be waiting for Windows 8, DX11.1, or interesting titles that are worthy upgrading from my lovely GTX 295 <3

That may be HD8000-series or GK110.
