Toon boom harmony crashes with Nvidia1070

Hi, i’m new to the wonderful PC world, coming from mac.
i was given a msi fast computer with a nvidia1070 video card.
the main software I’m using is Toon Boom Harmony 12.

when I boot Harmony and it remains on the laptop it’s all fine, but as soon as soon as I use a second screen such as a wacom cintiq or even a generic monitor, Harmony crashes. it actually only crashes once I re-open the scene I just saved and had quit.

One thing also, I noticed is that the native resolution of the msi computer is 4K. I downscaled it to HD because in 4K, the Harmony window, letters and icons were really very small…

so I’m wondering if there might be an incompatilbility between Harmony and this graphic card? is anywone has any suggestion, that would be very kind.

I’m willing to return the laptop if needed.
thx

update the graphic drivers from Nvidia's Website.

the small text at 4k is a problem of display scaling.

To further form @Dje4321 you can adjust the windows scaling in the display settings. So you can have native 2160p sharpness but also correctly sized text and icons.

This is not supposed to be great in windows but some gave said it is a little better in Win10. Worth a shot for that fix.

Other than that yes update everything.

thx, for your replies, I managed to adjust the size of text, but the only real problem is simply that something makes Harmony crash as soon as I do something on two screens. or rather as I re-open a previously saved scene made with two screens.

again, i'm questioning the possibility that the gtx1070 is not yet compatible with toon boom harmony, as I hae (now) noticed that on their minimum requirements it only goes up to 980.

and yes, I tried updating the nvidia driver already, thx though

What I'm understanding is that you're running Harmony of off a laptop right? If so my suggestion is to execute the program directly with the Nvidia GPU using the sontextual menu that pops up when you right click on an exe file, in this case the executable of Harmony.

to Metalize your brain,

this suggestion sounds good to me, the only thing is I'm no pc expert, I'm willing to give it a shot though. this is my first week using a PC...
If I try to understand what you're suggesting, is to open harmony directly through the Nvidia GPU as opposed to through the normal windows way? something like that?
so I'd go and find the exe harmony file, right click on it and try and run it using the Nvidia GPU if I can find that in the menu somehow...

Right click on the exe file of the program > 4th option should say something like "Execute with graphics processor" > select the Nvidia GPU.

I didn't find any screen on the internet unfortunately.

hmm, I've been looking for the program file... where would the actual program file be? thx again

I can't find any harmony exe file, i've looked into program files, and program files (x86),

the shortcut will work too.

I actually found the file, but right clicking on it doesn't offer me the option you mentioned. should I run it as administrator perhaps?

I noticed that I could go in the nvidia control pannel and that could add the harmony program - which isn't there originally - but I imagine that just adding the file wont do anything as long as I don't modify each precise setting? so that's different from what you're suggesting
