The reviews are actually pretty hit or miss, this speaker seems to be a noticable downgrade but for me it will sure beat the nastyness coming out of it now.

I used to have Sony headphones, after a few years of them lying in a drawer I reach for them and the foam sponges that cover the plastic turned into dust, literally disgusting black dense dust.

Material fatigue, weakening due to UV radiation, deteriorated material integrity due to time.
It is quite often seen with various foams, sponges, plastics. Many plastics in a car in the engine compartment after years crumble and crack once you turn something and everything breaks.
I also had zip ties that fell apart, even those that were not in the sun because they were inside PC.
My theory is simply some manufacturing process/chemicals are or are not used that negatively affect the length and quality of the material.

Installed the new speaker, like some of the reviews said it doesn’t punch the same and now i also have to crank the bass way up but it’s better than nothing/fart noises.
Im not complaining, for the price the performance has heen stellar and ive had them for 10+ years.

So you’ll find this hilarious, dude. I made a mistake during my battery calculations for the meshtastic nodes.
I had sized for an absolute worst case unrealistic load scenario and that was more of a joke and I had other numbers and I had other realistic projections and I accidentally used the worst case number when doing my calculations and didn’t pay attention.
So, this is specified to power a transmitter that has all of its telemetry on 24-7, all of its GPS transmitting in actively locked 24-7, and fully transmitting at the full power with the transmitter 24-7, with the fully loaded down processor 24-7. That was the worst case load, and I designed the batteries for that.
Well, it turns out now that I optimized all of the power draw and GPS only transmits once every 24 hours or more often if needed due to being jostled or moving. And everything else only does telemetry every 30 minutes and the transmitter only talks when necessary. It turns out the nodes are going to last 1 to 2 years without solar. In fact, if it was negative 40 degrees Celsius, they would last over six months without solar.
It’s a pretty funny thought to think that if I drop dead right now, those things if not disturbed by people would otherwise sit there and transmit for decades to come.
Thats a good error though- could have gone the other way and would suck to have to go out to locations and revamp.
Have you tried reflashing over bluetooth? I think there might be no need for having to USB connect after initial config. The app is nRF connect for Mobile - Nordic Semiconductor version 4.24.3. I’ve done it with that app from my pixel 8, pretty cool.

Remote nodes do not have bluetooth enabled. Its in managed mode and must be turned on from a remote station with the key
So you turn it on only if your damn sure your going and you need to shut it off after running tests before you leave… USB is not onboard and serial is disabled as well as any API output. The nodes are as secured as I can make them and it rebroadcasts all on the default channel with a spoofed location
Ultra remote nodes that only serve to link a canyon or a campground or something. If nobody is xmitting at night and there are no near neighbors they actually shutdown when solar is lost for the night to conserve power and wake back up when solar returns in the morning
We have them programmed to broadcast to the network that they do
“Shortname - Long Name - Good Night”
Its funny because storms can cause it to go to sleep and when it comes back we are like… hahahah! the snow melted off the panel again
