Today while stress testing my GPU

I was using Unigine Heaven to stress test and GPU-Z to monitor it, when I noticed it said my VRM was running at 100c!! Is this normal?

I have an Asus 780Ti Directcu 2 with boost clock set to 1.125ghz in an NZXT Phantom 410 with fans all over the place. GPU temp never cracks 70c so I know I'm good there. I'm just really concerned that the VRM is gonna pop or something at that temp.

From what I have seen around this forum, 100C on VRM is normal.  It's okay for VRM to get a little warmer than 100C.

try seeing the fans at 100% then do the stress test. i have a 760 so i don't know the card

Thanks, this makes me feel better.

Forgot to say I did have the fans at 100% for this stress test. I also pulled it out and cleaned the dust and other crud out of it before I started, just because I knew there might be some excessive thermal demands.

Asus and a lot of other companies skimp out of vrm cooling. My classified when pumping 1.5v through it on a moded bios the vrm doesnt go over 70. Stick its under 50. Thats extreme overclocking beyond stock. I wouldnt be happy with 100c. Somethibg people dont even realise when they grab the nzxt watercooler mount for their gpu's. The vrm and vram fry. I would be careful. Check to make sure you have positive preasure comming from the front and bot. And side. Cant remember if the 410 had a side mount. I have tje 820 and 780 classy. All I have to go on.

I think you misunderstood. I'm not using the Kraken G10. I'm using the stock DirectCU 2 cooler. Thanks for your input though. I may have to pop the cooler off and see what kind of thermal pad/paste is on the VRMs, if anything.

Also, the 410 does have a place to put a fan on the side, but I found that it made no difference on my GPU temps so I took it off.
