To crossfire or not to crossfire my 7870

With the market like is now its tuff to figure out which way to go. I already have a 7870 and would like to build upon what i already have. Any opinion would greaty be appreciated.  Plans are triple monitor 1080p  or 1440p single  or duel.

I'm not sure how they will scale but if you get two you'll have more overhead and performance.

A single 1440p monitor with dual HD 7870s would be really nice with the new frame pacing drivers they have out now.

My honest opinion, if you just bought your HD 7870 within the last year, why get rid of it? With current HD 7870 prices being on firesale why not buy another one?

Although with your motherboard I can't really recommend Crossfire, perhaps if you upgraded your motherboard to one that supports PCI-e 2.0 at x8/x8 for crossfire not PCI-e 2.0 at x16/x4.

Yup, not doing it this board. with the card prices like they are its tuff decide upgrade to the 7950 or just crossfire two 7870.

going up to a 7950 just isn't enough of an upgrade, two 7870s will kill a 7950. Unless you got a 780 or a titan, another 7870 is definitely a good way to go.
